What makes a coffee machine the best?
Espresso machine is more advanced than drip. The espresso machine presses the water under high pressure through the ground coffee powder. This helps to get more aroma out of the coffee and can even create a crema on top of the coffee. Espresso machines can be further divided in the standard ones that use ground coffee and the ones that use coffee pods which make them much easier to handle and clean.
Apart from that difference, the best coffee makers can have one or many of such special features like coffee cup warmers, removable water reservoirs, included coffee grinders, a hotplate to keep the brewed coffee hot or different types of displays and programming options.
Your chosen coffee machine can also be equipped with a frothing wand or special water filters to make the coffee taste even better. And there are many more features that make a coffee machine the best.
Once you decided which type of coffee maker you are looking for and what features you would like to have, then you can make the “design decision”. Even the best coffee maker can still come in many many different designs and colors. Once this is done you can simply choose by price

Our Conclusion on KitchenAid Pro
We especially liked that the KitchenAid burr grinder has 15 different grind settings. Additionally, it has a glass coffee ground container so that the coffee grounds do not stick on the sides of the container and make a mess. We also liked the very quiet operation of this grinder and found that the quality of the coffee and espresso from it was outstanding.
This burr grinder has a rather futuristic appearance that you may or may not like, but we were fine with it. It also receives a solid 4 star rating in Amazon

Review Of The Cuisinart Programmable Espresso Maker EM-200
With the EM-200, Cuisinart lets you prepare gourmet quality espresso at home. With a programmable system that allows you to pre-select the serving size, 15 bars of pressure for maximum flavor including a rich crema, and the option of using ground espresso or pods, you’re in control. There is also a separate steam function and stainless steel nozzle that supposedly make it easy to froth milk for cappuccinos and smooth lattes. More on that later. The removable drip tray and cover, and a portafilter holder with a locking mechanism that makes it easy to dispose of wet grounds after use, clean up is also quick and simple.
The Quest for a Perfect Espresso
It is generally agreed that there are four basic elements critical to the perfect cup of espresso:
Water: When brewing espresso, make sure the water flows through the filter at the correct speed. The water flow can be adjusted by varying the pressure with which the coffee is tamped in the filter or by altering the grind of coffee. If the speed of the water is slow, the coffee will be over extracted and will be very dark and bitter, with a spotted and uneven crema (froth) on the top. If the speed of the water flow is too fast, the coffee will be under-extracted and the supreme flavor will not develop. The coffee will be diluted and there will be an inadequate amount of crema on the top.
Coffee: While the bulk of the liquid is water, all of the flavor should be from the coffee. To achieve the same great quality of coffee you receive at a cafe, you need to use the same quality beans. If you choose to grind your own beans, buy the beans fresh and whole, only about a two week supply at a time for maximum freshness. Once the coffee bean is broken, its flavor degrades very quickly. If it is not practical to buy smaller supplies, we recommend you separate larger amounts of beans and store them in airtight containers in a cool, dry area. They should not be kept for longer than 1 month as flavor will diminish. Do not refrigerate or freeze coffee beans.
Grind: The grind of the coffee is critical for proper flavor extraction. If using a pre-ground coffee, be sure to purchase an espresso grind that is specifically for espresso/ cappuccino machines. If the grind is too fine, over extraction and bitterness will occur with a spotted and uneven crema on top. If the grind is too coarse, the water will pass through too rapidly and there will be an inadequate amount of crema on the top of the espresso.
Tamping the Coffee Grounds: If you choose to use ground espresso instead of pods with your Cuisinart programmable espresso maker, tamping the coffee is a very important part of the coffee-making process. Use the scoop supplied to fill the filter basket, then using the tamping tool, tamp down the grounds with moderate pressure. Add more coffee and tamp again if necessary to bring coffee to level. Do not overfill the filter basket. The ground coffee should be tamped with moderate pressure. If the coffee is not tamped securely, there is a chance the water will flow through the coffee to rapidly and the coffee will be under-extracted. Note: if the coffee is tamped too firmly, the water will flow through the coffee too slowly and the coffee will be over-extracted.

Milk texturing is the steaming of milk. The steam does two things; its heats the milk and mixes the air with the milk to form a foamy texture. As with learning to make an espresso, perfecting the art of milk texturing takes time and practice.

What We Don’t Like About This Cuisinart Programmable Espresso Maker
While this espresso maker makes a perfectly good espresso, the milk frother seems to be its weaker side. It simply does not deliver enough Oomph – or steam – to get a good milk froth. So if you prefer a latter or cappuccino over the usual espresso, then you might want to consider a different espresso machine. Have a look at the DeLonghi EC702 or the Krups XP420050 which are in the same price range but with more steam from their milk frother.
However, this Cuisinart programmable espresso maker is a perfectly good espresso machine with a good quality, very easy to use and clean and also comes with a good warranty. The list price for the machine is US$ 450.00, but as a clever shopper you can get yourself one f

Krups Espresso Machine XP420050 Review
As said earlier, this is a “no fuss” espresso maker that will make you a consistent coffee every time you use it. And that will be more often than before since the espresso and cappuccino drinks it produces are indeed very yummy.
The Krups Espresso Machine XP420050 with its precise tamp system compresses the coffee grounds perfectly so you have one less step to do and again, it does it the same way every time. Consistency. After making the coffee for you it is easy to remove the remaining ground coffee, also called coffee cake (but don’t even think about eating that cake). No mess there as with many other coffee makers. You can even use the cool coffee pods which come in different flavors and make even less mess.
The built-in 15 bar pump makes sure that you get a nice and rich crema on top of your espresso every time. This is important as you might know, have less pressure and your espresso wont taste so full and rich. This Krups machine has no problem creating the right amount of pressure and heat.

If you decide to heat some milk for a cappuccino or cafe latte you can use the multi-directional frothing nozzle, which makes it really simple to reach the milk-container you use. Multi-directional is just a word, but in reality it is another one of those ingenious German things that make your life easier. Have you ever struggled on another espresso machine to get the milk container under the frothing nozzle? Not with the Krups Espresso Machine XP420050, multi-directional is my new favorite
Of course, with all that German engineering, you can count on easy cleaning as well. You can remove the drip tray and the water tank so it is indeed simple to clean your espresso maker after use. And you will keep this machine clean since you want to showcase it in your kitchen. It has a simple but great design that will make your friends and visitors ask for coffee every time they see it. This is a great looking Krups espresso machine.
While there are others out there that are looking for espresso makers with more features, for me the simplicity and ease of use made me decide to buy the Krups Espresso Machine XP420050. And I am not the only one, many users say similar things about this machine. While its official list price is US$ 216.00 you can find it on Amazon for less than 200 bucks.

Gaggia Classic Espresso Machine Review
The Gaggia Classic 14101 uses standard sized filters for brewing rich, full espresso and cappuccino drinks. It is a commercial grade espresso machine, meaning it has a stainless-steel housing and inside works a powerful 17-1/2-bar pump. This ensures a very rich crema for your espresso. Also inside the Gaggia Classic espresso machine is a high-voltage boiler for quick water heating times. The independent expansion valve allows this coffee maker to heat water very fast without the unnecessary buildup of steam. A special solenoid valve assists you in refilling the tank. This filter can then be removed so the next shot is ready to brew instantly.
The filter mechanism allows coffee pods to be used and can deliver two cups at once. There is a hot-water dispenser for tea and a frothing wand for frothy milk and crema. You will definitely love the included cup warmer, since this simple little trick makes your coffee taste even better.
